Collaborating with Clarkson Architects, the commission was to design a new residential building on the Craggy Range Winery grounds to replace a former building and with design cues that were similar to the vernacular of other buildings on the winery grounds. The clients wanted an emphasis on entertaining with the use of large, covered areas for socialising and gathering in all seasons. The resulting design provides multiple options for entertaining and relaxing and with strong visual connections to Te Mata Peak and the vineyards of Craggy Range Winery.
