The site lent itself to an east/west plan with long north exposure. A main living room at one end to capture the long view, and a large "toy" garage and bar offset from the house designed around a central courtyard, which provides shelter from prevailing westerly winds. Vertical colour steel cladding is used for low maintenance on the outside. Exposed steel beams, floor to ceiling glass and polished concrete merge with midcentury themes of rich wood and stone with built in bookcases to create a welcoming, but modern home.
