All we wanted was a door to an upstairs bedroom and a refresh of our kitchen. Several great conversations later involving 'butter paper' and some great red wine, we were ready to embark on a major renovation of our Grey Lynn villa! Garry took our vague ideas and added his experience and energy into creating a fantastic outcome for us. He was professional, passionate and personable. He worked extremely well with our builder and sub-contractors and provided valuable project management input to the building process. And along the way we had a lot of fun! Yes, we got that door to the upstairs bedroom and a WHOLE lot more... Highly recommended!!
My first involvement with Garry was when he designed and supervised the building of a five bedroom Lodge for me.He listened to my requirements and incorporated these into his excellent design which was sympathetic to the landscape. As a result , I asked Garry to redesign the kitchen and extend the en suite in my next property. Again excellent results. I would certainly recommend Garry and would use his services again.

Garry is great to work with. He was very patient and tolerant of our decision making processes. His detailed knowledge of the plans was amazing and our build ended up progressing really well. We love our new addition. It’s light warm and spacious and a pleasure to live in.
We were looking to renovate our beach house, and make the most of a magic outlook over the Mangawhai inlet. Nearing retirement, we did not have unlimited funds, so a lot of time was spend at the concept stage, and Garry wisely liaised early on with a Quantity Surveyor to ensure we stayed on track. Needless to say we changed a few things along the way, and Garry was quick and adaptive to make the most of the opportunities with the changes. Very excited to be in the building phase now, and would definitely use Ardmore Architects again !
Sometimes extracting the wants of the client can be one of the most challenging things. We had “ideas” often conflicting and Garry was able to extracted solutions from us both.
